Pau Torres is the fourth footballer from Vila-real to form part of the Villarreal CF in the top flight of Spanish football. An achievement that only three over illustrious local talents, César Arzo, Héctor Font and Xisco Nadal, have achieved. For the defender, who has came through the ranks at the academy, it is an honour to form part of this select list: "It an added thrill to come from here and to play at the stadium where I watched football when I was a child. I want to be a reflection of the town's kids."
Torres already knows what playing in the first team means. The defender made his debut on 20th December 2016 against CD Toledo in the Copa del Rey. He has now played a total of seven games with the Yellow Submarine.
The 22-year-old is happy with the growth he undertook during his year on loan at Málaga and underlined that he is working as hard as possible to get a spot in Javi Calleja's side.
