Santi Cazorla this lunchtime received the Villarreal CF golden badge during the end-of-the-season meal, which has taken place at the Restaurante Entrelíneas at the Estadio de la Cerámica. After recovering from a serious injury, the magic midfielder has become a legend, being a key piece in the team that achieved survival, for yet another season, in the top flight of Spanish football.
Cazorla has been honoured for being one of the few players who have passed the 200-official-game barrier while wearing the Villarreal CF shirt. In total, counting this season's games, the Asturian has played in 294 official matches for the first team during eight seasons (216 in LaLiga, 46 in the Europa League/UEFA Cup, 15 in the Copa del Rey, ten in the Champions League and seven in the Intertoto Cup).
It's a more-than-deserved piece of recognition for Cazorla, who recently has been called up to the Spain squad as a reward for his excellent season.
