Villarreal B striker Mario González appeared in front of the press to analyse the current situation regarding the Mini Submarine, who last weekend confirmed their place in the play-offs for promotion to Segunda: "Now we've got a nice game against Valencia Mestalla coming up. We will see what they show us. We will play to win because we want to finish second. That's our aim now. It's important to finish as high as possible, as it would be help us to play the second legs at home. In such a tight league, it would be important."
Furthermore, González summed up Miguel Álvarez's side's impressive season: "We had a very good first set of fixtures, where we got 38 points. The second round of games has been a bit tougher. The teams get stronger and compete better. What's more, we suffered a lot of injuries during February and March, but the team continued competing. Now we're in a good moment, we've had two wins and a draw in our last three matches. We want to finish the normal campaign as well as possible to get to the play-offs full of confidence."
The forward, who is one of the team's key players, valued the hard work of the reserves in recent seasons: "We've been working at a high level for a long time. I've been here for four seasons and in three of them, we've been in the play-offs. They've created a very good culture of getting better, which players who have come through the ranks have adapted to."
