Villarreal midfielder Manu Trigueros emphasised the need to pick up points from their matches at the Estadio de la Cerámica so they can fight for their objectives until the end of the season: “Everything is possible when you pick up lots of points at home and continue to be consistent away from home. In this way, I’m sure we will continue to have options to compete for a Champions League spot until the end of the season”.
On the other hand, the Yellow number 14 was regretful regarding the loss against Real Betis, but at the same time he wants to turn the page and concentrate on getting a win against Deportivo Alavés (Saturday, 1pm CET): “We wanted to win at the Villamarín. We didn’t do that though and now we have to focus on the next match. It’s key to get a win against Alavés. It won’t be easy, they will try to play their football and we will have to remain true to our style of play if we want to pick up this vital win to keep us fighting at the top of the table”.
