The centre back says the team must turn the page on the Alavés defeat and focus on Saturday's match

At today's press conference, Villarreal CF's centre back from Cantabria, Álvaro González, stated that Saturday's match against CD Leganés is "crucial" (4:15pm CET). According to the defender, the best way to put the defeat to Alavés behind them would be to win against the 'pepineros': "We have to pick ourselves up and find our form to make sure we play in Europe next year. The match against Leganés is crucial, we can't let the three points slip away".

Álvaro González came to Villarreal CF this past summer from RCD Espanyol and since then has played 26 matches for the Yellows between the LaLiga Santander (17), Copa del Rey (4) and UEFA Europa League (5) competitions. He has scored one goal and has one assist for the Yellows, which he achieved in the same game against Granada CF at the Estadio de la Cerámica
