At today’s press conference, Villarreal CF centre midfielder, Manu Trigueros, highlighted that the Submarine "always competes" and that the team "is in good shape physically". What’s more, the former Yellows Academy player is optimistic ahead of the final phase of the season: "The aim is to stay in fifth, but our goal is to keep fighting until the end to try and get a Champions [League] spot". To achieve this, the Yellow number 14 said they "can’t lose at the Estadio de la Cerámica".
Manu Trigueros is having one of his best seasons in a Yellow shirt. The footballer has become a key player in the heart of Fran Escribá’s midfield. Not in vain, Villarreal’s number 14 is the second player to have played the most minutes this season (3,074), only behind captain Bruno Soriano (3,219), with whom he has formed a formidable partnership in centre midfield. This campaign Trigueros has also become one of the Yellows’ top goal scorers, having scored six goals counting all competitions.
