Villarreal B tried everything to get the three points on their visit to Feixa Llarga, but it was not to be. The Reserves picked up a point against CE l’Hospitalet (2-2) in a clash in which the Yellows went ahead on two occasions through goals by Leo Suárez, but the locals reacted twice to even up the scoreline.
The Yellows put in a good first half performance, taking the lead after just 20 minutes with a great strike by Leo Suárez from outside the box, almost 30 metres out, that hit the top corner. The Argentinean’s goal was neutralized in the 35th minute by Salinas, who equalized for the home side after a defensive error by the Yellows. Just before the break, it was Leo Suárez who put Villarreal ahead again, after creating space on the edge of the box with great footwork, before letting rip another spectacular shot that also flew into the top corner of the Catalonian side’s goal.
The second half did not start well for the Yellows Reserves though, as it was Salinas again who tied the game up in the 51st minute. Paco López’s side went in search of the winning goal in earnest, and even hit the crossbar, but the score remained 2-2.
