Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, assured that the best way to see out 2016 would be with a win against CD Toledo in this Tuesday’s cup match at the El Madrigal stadium (7pm CET). The Submarine has 0-3 advantage from the first leg played at the Salto del Caballo stadium, but the Yellows Manager says they still need to take the last step to go through to the Copa del Rey Round of 16. "We have one and a half feet in the next round, but the other half is missing. We will try to get a win to finish off the year satisfied. We want to see out 2016 with a win", he commented.
Fran Escribá affirmed that he will be putting out a competitive starting eleven: "We still have a quite a few injuries, but fortunately none are anything too serious. We’re going to wait, but it will be difficult to have the injured players ready. We’re going to have to play many of the same players from the last match and we also want to play some lads from the Reserves. The team will be as reliable as possible, but if everything goes well we could a rest some of the more regular players, depending on how the game goes. The tie is looking good, but I don’t think we’ve won anything yet".
In terms of analyzing the opposition, the Submarine Manager warned that Toledo will come to the El Madrigal with great hope: "Toledo have little to lose and they’re a brave side. They will come here and play their best, trying to score a goal early on to get themselves back in the tie".
