The Villarreal Manager was full of praise for his players after drawing at the Bernabéu

Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, was full of praise for his players after taking away an important point against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu stadium: “This stadium is such a difficult place to play at and we had a great match. I’m very proud of my players. We have to value this even more so because Madrid have been on a brilliant run”.

For Escribà, the draw is a tremendous achievement: “We defended well against a team that has many strengths. It’s a tremendous achievement to have come away with this draw”.

According to the Yellows Manager, the team had personality at such an emblematic stadium as the Santiago Bernabéu: “Chances come at the Bernabéu if you counterattack well. Madrid pushed forward and forced us to defend in our half, but even so we defended very well, especially on their crosses from wide positions”.

Lastly, the Submarine Manager highlighted Bruno’s performance, the Yellows goal scorer after converting a spectacular penalty: “Bruno is an extraordinary player and has been worth his weight in gold for many years now. We hope to keep him for a while to come yet”.
