The Villarreal CF made its La Liga 2015-16 debut getting one point on the visit to Betis' Benito Villamarín stadium. The Yellows played a tactical game and got ahead of the score with a goal scored by Roberto Soldado. This was his first goal for the Submarine. Villarreal enjoyed several clear chances to score and secure the three points, but Marcelino's men finally saw the locals scoring the equalizer with five minutes to go.
