‘Endavant Villarreal’, recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios as a nod to the history of the Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’, will be released on 19th December
Prestigious and renowned musician and composer Nacho Cano has composed the Villarreal CF centenary anthem, in what will undoubtedly be one of the most significant initiatives to celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary. The anthem, called Endavant Villarreal, has been recorded at the legendary Abbey Road studios, as a nod to the history of the Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’. The club will present this very special piece of work on Monday 19th December at the opening ceremony of the centenary, which will take place at 7.23pm CET (19:23 local time) at the Vila-real Auditorium (Auditorio de Vila-real).
For the composition of the anthem, the artist from Madrid has immersed himself in the history of the club and its environment to compose the lyrics in Valencian and thus give it a spirit of involvement and belonging, so that Yellows fans can feel identified with the local culture and values.
In addition, the musician wanted to carry out the project in style using the best technical resources, recording the music in Dolby Atmos 11.1 with the London Symphony Orchestra, one of the best in the world, and at none other than the world-famous Abbey Road studios in England. All this as a special tribute to the Beatles’ ‘Yellow Submarine’ song that had a direct influence on the club’s own history in the late 1960s, when the song became popular with fans and gave birth to a new identity that they have since proudly boasted. In the same vein, the photographic cover of the anthem emulates the iconic image of the zebra crossing on the corner of Abbey Road with Nacho Cano and the Villarreal mascot, ‘Groguet’.
The voices of the anthem correspond to the chorus of the cast of artists involved in the successful musical Malinche, a project led by Nacho Cano that saw the light of day in September 2022 and which can be enjoyed at the IFEMA exhibition centre in Madrid.
This special composition will be played in the build-up to every match played for the rest of the season. In addition, all versions of the anthem will be available for free download.
