The Villarreal Women head coach analyses the next opponent for the Yellows (Sunday, 1pm CET)
Villarreal Women head coach Sara Monforte appeared in front of the press conference in the build-up to the match against Rayo Vallecano (Sunday, 1pm CET), at the Rayo Vallecano Training Ground.
This is what she had to say about the opposition: “Rayo Vallecano are a team who changed manager this season. In fact, Miguel Ángel Quejigo is there now, he was the Fundación Albacete manager last season, so we know each other well. I think that a manager is a fundamental piece of a playing style. They also have Paula Fernández, who is a quality player, and everything goes through here. They also are good in the middle of the pitch, and can be direct when they connect with the players up front. At the end of the day, it will be key for us to try and dominate the game, have the ball and make fewer unforced errors.”
Monforte wanted to underlined that she was calm: “The team deserves a win, and something positive. We’re doing all we can to change the dynamic. It’s a very important game, but we know it’s not a final. The team needs to win a match to break the nervousness that we may have due to the current situation.”
