The midfielder from Alicante has reached 200 official matches with the Yellows, while the defender from Vilamarxant has reached the 100-game mark
Moi Gómez and Raúl Albiol continue to cement themselves in Villarreal history. The former reached the 200-game mark for the Yellows against Manchester United, while the latter reached the 100-game mark against the English side. The midfielder from Alicante has represented Villarreal in 134 games in LaLiga, 24 in Segunda División, 17 in the Europa League, five in the Champions League, 19 in the Copa del Rey and one in the UEFA Super Cup. The Valencian defender has featured for the Yellows in 80 LaLiga games, 11 Europa League matches, 5 Champions League ties, three times in the Copa del Rey and once in the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea.
The midfielder made his first-team debut in the 2011/12 season, when he was still a Villarreal B player. He left the club, spending time with Getafe, Sporting de Gijón and Huesca, before returning to Vila-real and becoming a UEFA Europa League champion and playing in the leading continental competition. In his first spell as a yellow, he was one of the heroes of promotion aged just 18.
The centre-back arrived at Villarreal at the start of the 2019/20 season to become a real leader in defence. In his second campaign with the club, he was crowned UEFA Europa League champion, and is currently one of the captains of Unai Emery’s team. As a Yellow, he was called up by Spain once more, and has become one of the leading centre-backs in Spain and Europe.
