The Yellows players only started competing this season and have already scored 97 goals in just 16 matchdays
Football is all about scoring goals. Goals win leagues, matches, tournaments, but above all they bring joy, happiness and emotion. So any team with a goalscoring instinct and efficiency in front of goal tend to be towards the top of the table. The Yellows Academy has been characterised for many years as a goal-scoring factory, as is the case of Gerard Moreno, Fer Niño or Samu Chukwueze, among others.
Mini D is a clear example of a team with a lot of goals and players with the ability to score. The team coached by Vicente Tarancón and Rubén Pons play in the second group of the Prebenjamín First Year Championship in Castellón and current sit in sixth position in the table. After drawing 6-6 in their latest match against Onda C, their goal scoring records are spectacular: 97 goals in their favour in just 16 matchdays, and in the last 5 games they have scored 40 goals. In addition, Raúl Fornés has already scored 36 goals after his latest hat-trick and Marc Gómez 22 goals.
The young Yellow team is also known for their great friendship, a relationship that started several years ago for some of them. Specifically in the Psychomotor Skills programme, which usually serves as a platform to make the jump to the Villarreal CF football school: “There is a group of players who come from the Psychomotor Skills programme and for others it’s their first year in the Villarreal CF academy. The most important thing is that everyone has been able to engage and establish a great friendship between them”, says Tarancón.
New objectives for the second part of the season
For the Mini D players, it is their first season competing all year round, and as the results show it has not been a setback at all. Every day has allowed them to improve and adapt to the competition. They’re currently having their best moment of the season. Tarancón is very happy with the attitude of his players: “We started in a new league for the boys, it is the first year that they have competed and the truth is that we are very happy. In addition, they are improving daily in terms of both sporting and non-sporting activities”.
Due to the absence of a match to finish the first phase of the season, Mini D is focused to give everything and start the second stage of the season in the best form possible, in which they will face teams from the province of Valencia. As Tarancón himself points out, it is a new experience for his young players: “Now we start the Federation Cup in which we will play against several teams from Valencia. The tournament will be a new experience for the boys as we will have the opportunity to play against clubs outside the province of Castellón.”
The team is made up of the following components:
Players: Adrián González, Hugo Bort, Nicolás Julve, Raúl Fornés, Yassin Afak, Aleix Belda, Luca Sabater, Pablo Font, Robert Vilanova, Aleix Bullón, Marc Gómez, Pablo Rubert and Tirso Colino.
Coaches: Rubén Pons and Vicente Tarancón.
