Miguel Álvarez: “We’re going to show our best level in Ferrol”

The Mini Submarine head has highlighted the good work of the team before the match at A Malata (Sunday, 4:15pm CEST)

Villarreal B head coach, Miguel Álvarez, appeared at the press conference prior to the match against Racing Ferrol, corresponding to matchday 5 of LALIGA Hypermotion, which will take place this Sunday at 4:15pm CEST at A Malata.

This is what the Mini Submarine’s coach had to say:

A difficult league

“The difficulty of the league is extremely tough and, I think, this year it’s even more so because we have a lot of young players. And we have young people who, in the future, if we are able to get the best out of them, we will be happy. I think that training is important, although it’s clear that the competition forces you to compete to the maximum because you have to win. Despite the difficulty, we are working well.”

Racing de Ferrol

“We face the game with the hope of getting a good result. In Elche we competed at a good level. We have to know individually what has penalised us in previous weeks, which is why we are working tirelessly. We are going to give our best version. Racing Ferrol is a very good team with a great head coach. In fact, they have almost all the backbone from last season. They have also strengthened well. They’re a very strong team and, backed by their home crowd, they’ll be a difficult opponent to face in a tough stadium.”

Former players

“We must have done something right along the way and at a collective level, in terms of recruitment. If you analyse, almost all the teams in the second tier have Villarreal players, and it even happens in the LaLiga EA Sports teams. I think we couldn’t be more pleased.”

Lekovic

“I see him as a very powerful player. He’s got an incredible presence, he understands the game well, he’s forceful, he has a good aerial game, good ball control… He has to adapt to his team-mates, to the team, but now we have to see him compete. To really know what level he is at, we have to test him.”

Morro

“Miguel is an incredible goalkeeper, he stops a lot, with a lot of personality. But we also have Rubén, who has shown us a great level. Now we have to assess who we want to play.”
