Villarreal B manager believes being a ‘balanced side’ will be key to bet Badalona
Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez underlined this lunchtime that the tiredness from playing against Arsenal U23s on Wednesday in the Premier League International Cup should not be an excuse for this Sunday’s match against CF Badalona (5pm CET): “We’ve only been able to train today and tomorrow. We don’t have much time, but we always are focused on ourselves. What’s most important is that we carry on growing as a team.”
The reserves lost to the English side and said goodbye to the competition that takes place on British soil. Despite that, Álvarez evaluated the competition positively: “In terms of results, it hasn’t gone well for us, but in terms of giving minutes to players who feature less, we’re happy. Everyone in the squad is important.”
Regarding the next game, the manager sees its as crucial to recuperate in terms of solidity and balance to beat Badalona. “Badalona have changed their manager and have a team experienced in the league. We need to be a balanced side to get a good result. We’re conceding a lot and we need to find our defensive solidity once more.”
