Miguel Álvarez: “We have to make the Mini a fortress”

Villarreal B will play their match home match of the league season against Real Betis Deportivo (Sunday at 8pm CEST)

Villarreal B coach, Miguel Álvarez, has appeared before the media at a press conference ahead of the match against Real Betis Deportivo at the Mini Estadi (Sunday at 8pm CEST)

This is what the coach had to say:

Returning to the Mini Estadi

“You always have to go for all three points. We are looking to forward to being back at the Mini Estadi, the stadium where all these years great things have been achieved and many players have taken the step up to professional football. We now return to the Mini and we want it to make it a fortress again, where our opponents come and know how difficult it will be to win. We are looking ahead to Sunday with a lot of excitement.”

Etta Eyong, the latest signing

“I know the qualities that Etta Eyong has and we know that he is going to add a lot for us. To tell the truth I am very excited, because he has qualities and capabilities that will suit our football very well. In any case, we have to watch him train and play. Today he has been with the first team and we are waiting to see if they will select him for the match against Valencia CF or whether he can be with us on Sunday.”

A match with a lot of talent

“On Sunday I expect a match that will bring together a lot of talent. In fact, I believe that Betis Deportivo and Real Madrid Castilla are the two teams with the youngest squads. I love what I have seen of Betis Deportivo, because they have players with a lot of experience in spite of their youth, who have won titles at youth level or in the youth ranks of the Spain national team. It is also a team with a lot of talent and is very direct.”

A message to the supporters

“There is no doubt that playing at La Cerámica is very important, but in our case the stadium would be emptier. At the Mini Estadi we are fortunate to be surrounded by our supporters. We hope that they give us all their support.”
