The Villarreal B head coach will continue to lead the team in Primera RFEF
Villarreal CF has reached an agreement with Miguel Álvarez to renew his contract with the Yellows for the next two seasons, until June 2026.
A fantastic and lengthy career with Villarreal B
The coach from Jaén will continue to lead the Mini Submarine’s project in Primera RFEF, continuing what has so far been a seven-year stint at the helm of the Yellows’ B team. In the 2021/22 season, he led Villarreal B to promotion to the second division and sealed survival the following year in this demanding division with a very young group of players.
Since his arrival at the club in 2017, Miguel Álvarez has not only been the architect of Villarreal B’s great sporting successes, but has also played a decisive role in the promotion of countless talents from the Yellows Academy to professional football. Players such as Pau Torres, Samu Chukwueze, Nico Jackson, Filip Jorgensen, Yeremy Pino and Álex Baena have all developed under the guidance of the coach from Jaén.
During the Mini Submarine’s second spell in the elite, under the leadership of Miguel Álvarez, many promising young players have been given the opportunity to play professional football.
