The Villarreal B manager warned about the dangers of the upcoming opponents (Sunday, 5pm CET)
Villarreal B manager Miguel Álvarez underlined his excitement to try and get a win against Sabadell this Sunday (5pm CET, Footters): “We’re not happy regarding results, but the team is playing really well and we’re calm. We’re excited to play well and try and win. It’s a big pitch in a good condition. For us that’s important when we’re playing away.”
Regarding the opponent, Álvarez warned about the potential of the Catalan side: “Sabadell have had a new coach for four matches. They’re really solid at home, they don’t concede many goals. It isn’t going to be easy, but our idea is to compete at a high level. I don’t understand how Sabadell is in this situation. They have great players and Seligrat is one of the best coaches at this level, but they weren’t able to start well. Now with the new manager, they still have a lot talent, such as Arturo, Edgar, Felipe Sanchón, Néstor, Adri Cuevas and Ángel. They’re all at a really high level. If we let them play to their strengths, it could be hard, but if we make the most of the ball, and we pressure up high, we could get a win.”
He also said the team were aware about the importance of the tie: “The team is working very well. It’s hard to name an 18-man squad because everyone is ready. We are really happy with the boys.”
The manager has Andrei and Quintillà back in his plans, with the pair previously missing through suspension.
