The Mini Submarine head coach highlights the improvement of the Balearic team before the duel at the Palladium Can Misses
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared at the press conference ahead of the match against UD Ibiza, which will take place this Saturday at 6:30pm CET at the Palladium Can Misses.
Confident opponents
“It’s a totally different team from the first half of the season. The head coach is not the same and there are several new signings. In the last few games they have only lost against Alavés and they won their last game. Their confidence will be high, but our aspiration is the same: to go and compete in the game knowing how difficult it will be because they will be hanging on to their chances, but we have to continue in the same vein.”
Opposition analysis
“They have something that is making them a lot better and that is that they are kind of liberated. They still thought it was all done and they are very lively in attack. They play 4-4-2, but sometimes it looks like a 4-2-4. They get a lot of people in for finishes when they get into a low block. Of the 12 goals they’ve scored since Lucas Alcaraz has been here, they’ve scored seven from set pieces. They also have players with a lot of experience. They are not an easy team. We have to respect our opponents and compete in the game.”
Nothing is confirmed
“When they deserve praise, I give it to them, even if they say it weakens them, so that they know that this is the way forward. We demand individual improvement from them because it makes the team as a whole stronger. When we win we are happier, but we focus on the day-to-day work. The team has been playing very well for many weeks, whether we win or lose. They know it’s not a done deal. There are still many points to play for and many days to dedicate to their individual improvement because, despite being in professional football, they are young and in training.”
