The Villarreal defender underlined that the Yellows deserved more in a game they dominated and had the majority of possession
Villarreal defender Mario Gaspar appeared spoke to Villarreal TV after the draw against Elche (0-0). The Yellows captain was frustrated that his side were unable to get a home win: “The team tried everything. We didn’t put in a good game in the final third. We lacked precision in our passing, they set up with a really solid defensive line and we found it hard to create chances.”
For Mario Gaspar, Villarreal were imprecise as they approached the opposition’s goal: “We lacked cutting edge and patience. In the first half, we rushed trying to make the final pass, a pass which was maybe a bit too hard to make, and in the second half we tried even more, but we weren’t particularly dangerous considering how much we dominated.”
