

Villarreal are one of seven Spanish teams to have won more than 40% of their games in the top flight of Spanish football
Villarreal CF finished their 20th season in the top flight of Spanish football this year, sealing their 16th participation in European competition after an excellent end to the LaLiga season.
After 20 years in the top flight, the Yellows are 19th in the historical LaLiga table with 1135 points. The Yellow Submarine have played 760 games, with 312 wins, 199 draws and 249 losses.
This season, the Yellows passed the 1000-goal mark, as well as the 300-win mark in the top flight of Spanish football. Only 20 teams in Spain have achieved this. The 1,000th goal came from Moi Gómez in the 4-4 draw against Granada on Matchday 1, while Villarreal got their 300th top-flight win after beating Sevilla FC at the Sánchez-Pizjuán on Matchday 17 of the domestic league season.
Villarreal’s goal difference is +121. The Yellows are one of eight LaLiga sides to have scored more goals than they have conceded in the top flight. Real Madrid (+2919), FC Barcelona (+2958), Atlético de Madrid (+1311), Valencia CF (+965), Athletic Club (+922), Sevilla FC (+333) and Real Sociedad (+12) are the other clubs with a positive goal difference.
Another impressive stat Villarreal is that of Villarreal’s impressive win percentage in the top flight. The Yellows are one of just seven Spanish sides who have won at least 40% of their games in the top flight.
Villarreal have won 41% of their game in the top flight, like Sevilla FC (41%) and only behind Real Madrid (60%), FC Barcelona (58%), Atlético Madrid (48%), Valencia CF (45%) and Athletic Club (43%).
