The Yellows collaborate with a women’s football club in Emek Hefer
Villarreal Israel Academy is the newest official partner academy to join the Villarreal Academy family. Based in Emek Hefer, Israel, just north of Tel Aviv, the academy is exclusively for female players ranging from eight to 19 years of age. This academy is the first of its kind in Israel to partner with a European club and provide Israeli female players with the chance to visit Spain to train and/or play with the Villarreal Women’s set up, with the Yellows’ first team competing in Primera Iberdrola, the first division in Spain.
Emek Hefer Women’s FC has teams at all age group and its first team plays in the first division in Israel. Villarreal Israel Academy is the joining of forces between Villarreal CF and Emek Hefer WFC as part of the club’s Villarreal Academy international expansion project.
“Partnering with a major club such as Villarreal provides our smaller and younger club with the immediate access to the knowledge and methodology perfected by years of research and experience. We intend to adopt as much of the Villarreal methodology and use as many of the tools that this partnership will provide us with” said academy director Evrati Avrahami.
The club’s international academy initiative already has a number of academies around the world. The Yellows are currently represented by partner academies in the US, Canada, Mexico, Bolivia, Russia, Australia, Japan, South Korea, and now Israel, among others.
