Giampiero Ventura has included the Villarreal striker in his squad to face Liechtenstein and Germany
Villarreal’s Italian-German forward, Nicola Sansone, has been called up by the Italian national team for the ‘Azzurri’’s next two international matches. The four-time World Cup winners will play two games, one Russia 2018 World Cup qualifier and one friendly. First they will visit the Rheinpark Stadion to face Liechtenstein on 12th November (Vaduz, 8:45pm CET) and after they will host Germany at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium on 15th November (Milan, 8:45pm CET). It should be noted that Italy are second in Group G, behind Spain, and Liechtenstein are bottom of the group.
Sansone returns to the Italy Senior side, whom he has already represented in two matches. Furthermore, in the youth age groups he was a standout, above all with the U21s when he was a runner-up in the 2013 U21 European Championships in Israel. In Italy’s last match he played 26 minutes in their victory over Macedonia (2-3). Sansone is Villarreal’s top goal scorer this season with five goals scored in the LaLiga Santander.
