Unai Emery stressed that Villarreal must be reliable and capable of stopping Real Betis playing to their strengths to get the three points
Villarreal manager, Unai Emery, appeared before the press earlier today to analyse the Yellows’ next match against Real Betis at the Benito Villamarín (Sunday, 4:15pm CET): “They’re a team that perform well and have been punished harshly by some big results which may put them in a negative light, but in reality they’re in eighth place with 15 points.”
For Emery, the green and whites are a talented outfit with great individual quality: “When they’ve played their best, like against Osasuna or Elche, they’re a very good team. They have a strong defence and from there they grow in their potential going forward. Up top they have individual players that are determined and they will make us play our best in defence. We really respect them.”
Additionally, the Yellows boss insisted that Villarreal must be steadfast in their play and know how to stop Betis from playing to their strengths to come away with the three points from Seville: “We’re going to come up against a Betis side that will want to control the possession of the ball and impose their quality. We have to find our way. We need to be reliable and consistent in our game, know how to suffer and stop their individual and collective play progressing in order to get the win.”
