Vilarreal get a convincing victory over Osasuna and consolidate their place in the European spots

Villarreal prevailed at El Sadar. The Yellows got an impressive win against Osasuna (0-3). Quique Setién’s side outplayed their opponents with a serious and very convincing performance. A goal from Samu Chukwueze and two from José Luis Morales earned the three points in Navarre. A victory that consolidates the team’s position in the European zone.

The Submarine took an early lead at El Sadar. Samu Chukwueze once again showed that he is in fine form, scoring a fantastic goal with his knee. Alfonso Pedraza slipped a pinpoint ball into the box for the Yellow’s No.11 to connect with, and he put it on target to put the Submarine ahead.

Three minutes later, Samu Chukwueze made it 0-2, but it was disallowed for a very fair offside. The Nigerian finished brilliantly after a fantastic through ball from Yeremy Pino. It was a pity for Setién’s side that it didn’t go in.

With ten minutes to go in the first half, the Submarine suffered an injury to Gerard Moreno. The Catalan striker was unable to continue on the pitch and Morales came on in his place.

The second half started with an Osasuna onslaught. The visitors resisted the home side’s onslaught, after a double change at half-time. Alfonso Pedraza and Raúl. Albiol left the pitch and Johan Mojica and Aïssa Mandi came on in their place.

Fortune was not in favour of Quique Setién’s side. Ramón Terrats also went down injured, prompting team-mate Giovani Lo Celso to come on. Meanwhile, two Osasuna shots hit the woodwork of the goal defended by Pepe Reina. Villarreal struggled to manage their lead.

With five minutes to go, Morales stole a difficult ball from the home defence. The striker surprised Aitor Fernández with a shot from the centre of the pitch. Villarreal made it 0-2. In stoppage time, Morales scored the third and sealed the match. 0-3 at El Sadar. Impressive victory.
