Escribá believes the win against Real Sociedad is a boost in morale for Villarreal
The Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, highlighted that the win against Real Sociedad (0-1) is a real boost in morale for everyone, but especially for the whole group, who give everything in every training session and match. “Evidently, we’re really happy for everyone, for our fans, but especially for the group. It’s great for them to put a stop to all the rumours that the team has been playing badly. They showed that, after not playing great in the first half, they are solid. A lot of times, the critics make the group feel that it is not a lack of luck, but that they are playing badly. And that’s not fair. That pains me, for them. And I take it on as a part of my profession, but I believe they’re a group that have earned credit for many years now. I’m happy for them to get this win, because they leave everything out there in every match and every training session and this victory is a reward for their daily work”.
For the Manager the team deserves all the credit possible, as they always show how hard they work: “We’ve felt the anxiety, a pressure I believe to be excessive on the players. As Manager, I accept all that and they can say whatever they want, but I think the players deserve more credit and can’t be doubted so much after a bad match like the other day. We played really well in Sevilla and it seemed that, mentally, it had been three months ago when it was only two weeks ago. Evidently, it’s a very difficult schedule, but the team is ready to win”.
