The full back returned to the starting eleven against Sparta Prague in El Madrigal
Jaume Costa returned and he did so in great fashion in what was a very demanding match. The left back had not played since 25th February against Napoli in San Paolo because of an injury to his left ankle. The Yellow number 11returned to play in the UEFA Europa League against AC Sparta Prague and put in a high level performance: “I felt good. Towards the end my calf began to seize up as I’ve only trained three times after a month and a half out, but I’m happy because my ankle didn’t hurt and now I just have to focus on getting my fitness back”.
The Yellows’ defender played 76 minutes to a great level, demonstrating that he is ready to help the team for the final stretch of the season. It was a shame that the result against Sparta wasn’t as convincing though. “It’s a bittersweet feeling because we missed many clear chances. I think that if we play like that in Prague we’ll get through to the next round. We played really well and we gave everything until the end”, he assured.
Finally, Jaume Costa stated that they are already thinking about this Sunday’s match at El Madrigal (6:15pm CET): “We have to think about Getafe now because getting the win here will be a big step towards securing the Champions League spot for us. We have to take it step by step. We can’t throw it away”.
