Víctor Ruiz underlines that the team are calm and working hard to get their first win of the season
Villarreal have seven matches, in both LaLiga and the UEFA Europa League, in the next three weeks. Because of that, Víctor Ruiz says the Yellow Submarine are making the most of the international break to regroup and get ready to take on their next challenges with confidence. “We’re correcting errors and working hard to try and get the first victory of the season. When you come in to it off the back of a defeat, the break seems quite long, but we’re really keen to get back out there and compete again,” he said.
Speaking to the press, the Yellows defender expressed his ‘trust’ in a group made up of talented footballers who have the necessary attitude to turn things around. Ruiz added: “We have players in every position good enough to do well in every competition. Despite the start of the season, our mood is good. The team is calm, training well and can’t wait to get the first three points. You have to remember that the season has only just started.”
The Catalan centre-back also spoke about the intensity and hard work of Villarreal’s next rival, Leganés, saying: “They’re a very intense and uncomfortable team to play against, they make things difficult for you. At this stage of the season, they’re the team that has run the most in the league. We will need to make a real effort to get the three points at Butarque.”
