Goals from Forés and Ontiveros gave the B team the lead in Huesca, but they dropped two points in stoppage time
The Mini Submarine drew 2-2 in Huesca with two goals from Forés and Ontiveros in the first half. The home side pulled one back in the second half and scored a direct free-kick in stoppage time to draw the match square.
It didn’t take long for the Mini Submarine to take the lead with a goal from Álex Forés. Ontiveros pulled a good long pass out of his sleeve that looked like it was going to be intercepted by the home keeper, but he failed to clear and the Valencian striker was there to steal the ball and score into an empty net.
Miguel Álvarez’s side continued to press forward and Jorge Pascual had two good chances. For Huesca, Javi surprised with a missile that crashed against the crossbar in an isolated chance. But Javier Ontiveros’ missile, impossible for Álvaro Fernández to keep out, scored the second on the half-hour mark.
At the start of the second half, things got complicated. It wasn’t long before Loureiro pulled one back with a header from a corner. The legs were starting to get tired and players such as Forés, Jorge Pascual, Ontiveros and Lekovic were beginning to show signs of fatigue. The Mini Submarine fought until the end for the win, but a goal by Sielva from a direct free kick in extra time deprived the reserve team of victory in the final moments.
After two away games, Villarreal B will return to La Cerámica next Sunday at 2pm CEST for the game against Amorebieta.
