The sports media outlet handed out six awards to Villarreal’s academy and women’s football
The Yellows Academy took centre stage at the Golsmedia Sports Awards 2019. They took place at the Gran Teatre Antonio Ferrandis de Paterna, recognising the best players in regional leagues across Valencia.
Striker Simón Moreno was named the best striker in Segunda División B Group 3, while Manu Morlanes, current first-team member, was named as the best player in the league, after an excellent season under Miguel Álvarez.
The U19s (Juvenil A) also won a number of awards. After an excellent season, where they won the league and the Copa del Rey, Golsmedia named Filip Jorgensen as the best goalkeeper in the league, and gave Álex Baena the best midfielder and best player awards for the División de Honor Group 7.
Finally, Aixa Salvador received an honorary prize for recognising her excellent international trajectory. The footballer is World Champion and European Champion with Spain U17s, as well as starring for Villarreal Women.
