The Catalan striker’s achievements from last season have been recognised once more
Gerard Moreno continues to get recognition for his great performances with Villarreal last season! After being named 20/21 Europa League Player of the Season, he is now among the 30 players nominated for the Ballon d’Or. He is the fourth player in the club’s history to be nominated for the award, after Juan Román Riquelme (2005, 2006 and 2007), Diego Forlán (2005) and Marcos Senna (2008).
Alongside the Yellows’ striker, prestigious magazine France Football has nominated the following players: César Azpilicueta, Nicolo Barella, Karim Benzema, Leonardo Bonucci, Kevin De Bruyne, Giorgio Chiellini, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ruben Dias, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Bruno Fernandes, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Jorginho, Harry Kane, N’Golo Kanté, Simon Kjaer, Robert Lewandowski, Romelu Lukaku, Riyad Mahrez, Lautaro Martínez, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Luka Modric, Mason Mount, Neymar, Pedri, Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling and Luis Suárez. The winner will receive the Ballon d’Or in Paris on 29th November.
