The Catalan central midfielder has been included in José Lana’s 20-player squad
Villarreal midfielder Gerard Hernández has been called up to the Spain U19 squad for the upcoming European Championships, which will take place in Northern Ireland from Monday 15th July – Sunday 28th July.
Following a three-week training camp at l’Alfàs del Pi in Alicante, the Catalan central midfielder has been named in the final 20-player list who will head to Belfast tomorrow, on Saturday 13th July.
Meanwhile, Pau Navarro, who was included in the preliminary list, was one of five players not named in the final squad by coach José Lana.
Spain will play in Group B with Denmark, Turkey and France, and will compete to be crowned European U19 champions.
The confirmed matches for Spain are as follows:
16th July: Denmark vs Spain, 4:30pm CEST, Inver Park, Larne
19th July: Turkey vs Spain, 8:00pm CEST, Seaview, Belfast
22nd July: Spain vs France, 8:00pm CEST, Inver Park, Larne
