The loyal Yellow has been a supporter for more than a decade
Füstös András may live in a Hungarian village called Környe, but was aged just ten years old when he fell in love with the Submarine. “I watched a Villarreal match on the TV, and the yellow jersey mesmerized me,” he explains. “Slowly, I started to follow the matches more regularly, and the team became a passion to me.”
He emphasizes that Villarreal is one of the most important things in his life: “Villarreal means a lot to me. It’s a family, it’s a passion. It’s love. Winning a match always makes me happy, while losing will make me sad for a while. Everything in my life is based around Villarreal. I love to show my passion, either by wearing the shirt or a dogtag with the club’s badge.”
The Hungarian saw Villarreal B at the Bozsik Arena in their 0-0 pre-season draw against Budapest Honvéd in the inauguration of the stadium earlier this year, after previously having seen the Yellows in 2018 against Rapid Vienna in Austria.
Füstös says he has a number of footbalelrs who he is fond of, but there is one in particular who stands out: “My favourite all-time Villarreal player is Sergio Asenjo. He always makes great saves. Although it was another goalkeeper, Gero Rulli also gave me my favourite moment, with his penalty save in the UEFA Europa League.”
Here at Villarreal CF, we are telling the stories of our international fans through the ‘Yellows Around The World’ series.
