The Villarreal Manager was regretful of his team’s start to the game and the sending off of Roberto Soriano
The Villarreal CF Manager, Fran Escribá, knows how hard it is to pick up points in the LaLiga Santander to stay at the top of the table. For this reason, the Manager wanted to give value the draw against Málaga, in a match that was made difficult for the Yellows: “We don’t have to put too much importance on this result. It’s the type of slip up that happens a lot. No point is easy and I think we have to value it according to how the game went”.
With regard to the Yellows performance, the Manager maintained that his team competed well for most of the match: “We always compete well. Until they scored we didn’t know how to react, but after that we played well. The team created clear chances, but we didn’t score”.
To finish, the Yellows Manager analyzed next Thursday’s match against AS Roma in the UEFA Europa League (9:05pm CET): “A tough match awaits us. It’s going to be difficult, Roma are up at the top of their league, but we don’t have to see them as too good for us. We have the same chances as them. We have the chance to get through”.
