The Argentinean defender is grateful to the club and promises to work hard to help the Submarine
Argentinean centre-back Juan Foyth was officially presented as a new Villarreal CF player in a press conference this afternoon by the club’s CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles.
The new defender was very excited upon his arrival to Villarreal, where he hopes to learn and grow as a professional: “Villarreal is a great club and I didn’t think twice about coming here. I’m convinced that this is a very good opportunity to keep competing but, above all, to improve every day and help the team grow. I can’t wait to start playing and help the team.”
International with the Argentina national team, Foyth assured that he will work hard to repay the club for the confidence they have shown in him: “I realised straight away that this club is fantastic. I will try to properly understand the manager’s style of play to be able to help the group. I want to contribute and I’m going to make the most of every opportunity that the manager gives me.”
During the press conference, Juan Foyth commended the Yellows on an excellent start to the season: “Villarreal have excellent players. There is always quality on the pitch. It is a very united team that is doing a great job. We will take each game as it comes, which is what will take us as high as possible in the table.”
Lastly, Foyth described himself as a versatile player: “Generally, my natural position is at centre back, but if the manager asks me to play right-back I’ll play there. I can adapt quickly with the help of the coaching staff and my team-mates.-
Roig Negueroles: “We’ve made a great addition to the side who will bring us a lot”
Villarreal CF CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles, welcomed Juan Foyth and emphasised that he is a necessary reinforcement for Villarreal’s aspirations: “Despite his youth, Juan Foyth is a player that is going to give us so much. He has qualities and virtues that make him fit perfectly in our team. I’m sure he’s going to perform to a very high level.”
