Futbol Draft have included Yeremy, Fer Niño, Álex Baena and Salma Paralluelo in their first selection of young Spanish talent

Villarreal players Yeremy Pino, Fer Niño and Álex Baena have been included in the 99 most promising young male players in Spain by Futbol Draft. Villarreal Women’s Salma Paralluelo has also been recognised, being named as one of the 55 most promising young female footballers in the country.

Yeremy will hope to enter in the gold, silver and bronze XIs as a right winger, while Baena is up for the No.10 role and Fer Niño as a striker.

Paralluelo, after her excellent season with the women’s first team, is one of five players nominated in the female section as a left winger.

Futbol Draft, a reference award for youth football in Spain

Futbol Draft has unveiled the list of players who are up for the awards for youth football in Spain for 2020/21. The Technical Committee, made up of representatives of Spanish football institutions, including the selectors for Spain youth age groups, have made the first cut of 99 players in the male section and 55 in the female section.

The Technical Committee meeting, which took place online due to the pandemic, was attended by Javier Lasagabaster (CEO Futbol Draft ®), Francis Hernández (RFEF national team co-ordinator), Luis de la Fuente (U21 selector), Santi Denia (U19 selector), Pablo Amo (U18 selector), David Gordo (U17 selector), Pedro López (Women’s U19s selector), Jacinto Alonso (Rioja Federation president and RFEF board member), Diego Rivas (AFE Secretary-General and Ana Rosell (women’s football expert).

As usual, before the awards are confirmed, in October, a cut of 55 players in the male section and 33 in the female section will be made.

Futbol Draft will also reward the youngsters’ human values

From this edition, Futbol Draft will also personally reward the youngsters who have stood out for their integrity, values, good academic dynamics, leadership, etc. The decision of the winners of these prizes will be agreed with the RFEF’s academic co-ordination department, which follows the international players throughout the year. This prize will be decided during the last Technical Committee meeting.

Futbol Draft now has 15 editions to its name

The current edition is No.15 of Futbol Draft, which has rewarded young Spanish talents since 2006. During these years, players such as Sergio Ramos, Gerard Piqué, Juan Mata, Álvaro Morata, David Silva, Koke, Ferran Torres, Pedri, Sandra Paños, Marta Torrejón, Nahikari García, Esther González, Lola Gallardo, Patri Guijarro, Irene Paredes and Lola Gallardo have won the award.

The Futbol Draft Technical Committee is made up of Royal Spanish Football Federation youth national team selectors, as well as recognised experts in youth football and members for the leading institutions in Spanish football (RFEF, LaLiga, AFE, CSD and AEAF).
