Villarreal B beat Algeciras CF in an excellent match for the Mini Submarine
Impeccable. Villarreal B won convincingly against Algeciras CF (3-0). The Yellows showed the immeasurable talent they possess against one of the best teams in the league this season. Miguel Álvarez’s team delighted the fans with an almost perfect second half in which Carlo, Migue and Lozano, with their goals, gave a win the great team performance deserved.
Right at the start of the game, Ahn could have given his side the lead with a great chance. The South Korean attacker controlled the ball in the heart of the box, following a cross from the left, and sent his shot narrowly wide. The Mini Submarine continued their search for a goal. During the first half, Ahn had a couple more chances to find the net.
However, despite a good first half, the best football was unleashed in the second 45 minutes. Within a minute of coming out of the tunnel, Villarreal B took the lead when Carlo Adriano’s powerful shot from the edge of the box bounced off the post and into the back of the net. It was a masterpiece.
Just five minutes later, the second goal came for the Mini Submarine. After a good team move and an impressive run, Migue Leal beat Tristán with a shot across the face of goal. Sergio Lozano rounded off the scoring with an emphatic finish past Tristán after a lovely team move by Villarreal B.
The Mini Submarine’s victory could have been much bigger, as they picked up three valuable points against a top of the table opponent. With 55 points, the Mini Submarine now sit second in the table and look to the top of the table with hunger and optimism.
Miguel Álvarez’s side will be back in action next Saturday, at 7pm CEST, against FC Barcelona B at the Johan Cruyff Stadium.
