The Villarreal Manager highlighted that the Submarine had a good game vs RC Deportivo
In the postmatch press conference, the Villarreal Manager, Fran Escribá, underlined the Submarine’s “effort” against RC Deportivo de La Coruña for the full 90 minutes of the match: “I’m satisfied with the work and effort put in by the team. We gave our all to win, but we couldn’t do it. Deportivo came here with the game plan to sit back and we couldn’t find a way through them”.
The Yellows boss pointed out that despite the draw, the results of their direct rivals allow Villarreal to depend on themselves: “We’re not happy with the draw, but it means we depend on us in the last fixture of the season. If we beat Valencia we won’t have to lookat any other results”.
Likewise, Escribá did not miss the chance to acknowledge the “great” performance of the less regular players: “In the end we didn’t have a few big players available. But in spite of that, the less regular players have given a lesson in professionalism once again””.
Lastly, the Yellows Manager thanked the fans for the push they gave during the match: “The fans were spectacular. They cheered us on a lot. They gave their all just as the team did”.
