Villarreal’s head coach, Fran Escribá, was very proud of the performance of his men against Valencia CF in Mestalla. A victory by 1-3 that has sealed the presence of the Submarine in next year’s UEFA Europa League edition. “We are all very happy. It’s always great to look forward, but today is a day that we should look backwards and see the magnificent season we have just concluded”, he said.
For Escribá, the merit of the team is enormous. We are very proud of them because the beginning of the season was very hard. I remember all the bad nights perfectly and that makes us even more happy. We have got many points. Getting to 67 is not easy and it deserves credit. We have competed very well and in big moments and against big teams we have always stepped up as a great group”.
