Villarreal has been developing elite sport in the province of Castellón since 2004 with excellent results

Backing homegrown talent. Since 2004, Villarreal CF has been actively contributing to promote elite sport in the province of Castellón, through the sporting sponsorship ‘Endavant Esport’s programme, which has become an ambitious project, currently made up of 34 clubs, 39 athletes and five competitions across 21 distinct disciplines.

A total of 9,500 athletes from Castellón of all ages receive economic and sporting support from the Yellow Submarine, which donates a lot of resources to the project. The excellent results each season by those who take part in the initiative strengthen Endavant Esport’s missions, which is to promote elite sport in our province and develop its growth.

Constantly growing, this season 18 athletes (Miguel Pérez, Diego López, Jairo Noriega, Ariana Gómez, Carmen Ferrara, Pere Jiménez, Víctor Ruiz, Sergio Martínez, Ainhoa Gimeno, Paula Viciano, Carmen Ramos, Pablo Ania, Rubén Albiol, Alba Cebrián, Carla Tejedo, Óscar Pinto, Aida Beteta and Pau Martínez) have joined Endavant Esports, as have seven new clubs (Vila Swim Fondistas Club de Natación, Club Triatló Tritrail Castelló de la Plana, Club Tritons Vila-real, Vila-real Club Rugby Penyagolosa, Amics Handbol Onda, Club Tennis Taula Santísimo Salvador and Club Bàsquet Benicarló).

A fantastic season for Endavant Esports

With their commendable dedication, clubs and athletes from Endavant Esports represent our province in countless national and international tournaments, placing Castellón at the top of the sporting world. Also, competitions such as Penyagolosa Trails or the Marató dels Dements promote the impressive setting of our region.

In the current season, Roberto Bautista has reached the best position in the ATP rankings (ninth) of this career, reaching the semi-finals at Wimbledon, Sebastian Mora has seven medals in European and World Championships in the last five months of competition, while Pablo Torrijos has confirmed his place in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo. The triple jumper from Castellón broke Spain’s Triple Jump record, with 17.18m in the Indoor National Championships in Ourense, where his club, Playas de Castellón, won 19 medals.

The breakthrough of Jairo Noriego, the successes of Lidón Muñoz, Sara Sorribes and Ariadna Edo, the stability of projects like TAU Castelló, Servigroup Peñísolca FC, UBE L’Illa-Grau and Bisontes de Castellón are only a few examples of the great successes our athletes have each weekend across the country. Their hard work and dedication underline Villarreal’s commitment to provincial sport and the spirit of the ‘Endavant Esports’ project.
