The Yellows head coach was disappointed with being knocked out in the cup, but backs his side to put it behind them and focus on LaLiga
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media in a remote press conference to analyse being knocked out of the cup by Levante UD (1-0): “I’m proud of the team’s work, we dug in, we showed up and we went into the game full of personality. In the last second, the game slipped away from us, and we need to move on.”
The Basque manager underlined that despite the elimination, the team need to pick themselves up and focus on upcoming challenges. “We were very excited about this competition but it wasn’t to be. We need to put it behind us, think about LaLiga and the Europa League, continue with a good journey in both competitions.”
Finally, Emery underlined his frustration at the number of players that have injuries: “The injuries are conditioning us a lot. I hope that we can get some players fit for what’s still to come.”
