The Villarreal head coach underlined his satisfaction at the point earned against Getafe

Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery was very satisfied with his side’s performance against Getafe (0-0). “The point is very good. The match went according to plan. We wanted to go for the win, but Getafe are a very well organised team. They didn’t let us get balls inside. From then on, we had chances to win the game and we couldn’t do it because the goalkeeper had a great game,” he said.

For the Basque manager, the Submarine controlled the match: “Getafe left us few gaps in defence and were strong in the duels. They knew what they had to play for today. We have a lesson to remember. Last year we had problems. And this year we’re very focused on LaLiga and we’re off to a very good start. The team is very aware. This is the script we have prepared for mentally.”

Finally, Emery highlighted the Yellows’ run of form: “It’s been a tremendous week. We’ve played four away games in a very short space of time. To get three wins and a draw is very important. Getting off to a good start was very important. Now we have a week to prepare for the home game against Elche. I’m very happy, despite wanting more. We are ahead of schedule”.
