The Villarreal head coach was frustrated with the missed opportunity against Granada
Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery was frustrated with the missed penalty late on against Granada that could have given the Yellows victory. The match ended 2-2: “Paco is a specialist and has scored a lot of penalties. We need to continue supporting him. The table is tight and the win would have helped us stay towards the top. Now we’re starting the second half of the season and we need to continue improving. The team is working well,” he commented.
For Emery, it was a tight game, with the best chances falling to the Yellows: “The 90 minutes went as expected. We tried to get past their press, being patient to continue with our game plan. We stopped Granada from running, but they caught us out on Soldado’s goal. Then we weren’t as dangerous as we wanted to be, but we had chances to get the three points. Defensively, we put in a great performance. We’re ending the day with a bittersweet point.”
