Unai Emery positively valued the three points won against Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Estadio de la Cerámica (4-0)
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery underlined his satisfaction with his team’s performance, after they beat Maccabi Tel Aviv (4-0) on Matchday 3 of the UEFA Europa League Group Stage: “We are continuing to grow and today we’ve taken another step forward. The three points were very important and the win is extremely valuable. The team has put in a very complete 90 minutes, dominating practically every part of the tie and being patient to create and then take chances. I want to highlight that we have been able to find a balance between young players and footballers with a lot more experience.”
This has given the Submarine their third win in a row. “We came into the match full of confidence. I’m happy with the progression and performance that the players are having. The fact that we can continue growing as a team while adding academy prospects is very positive. We need to continue working like this,” emphasised Emery.
The Basque manager also hailed Carlos Bacca’s performance: “What I value most about Bacca is how committed he is, and his patience to find the right moments in games. Today his hard work was reflected on the pitch, as he scored a double. We’re lucky to have three strikers who are in good form. We want all of them to have minutes and to make the most of their minutes.”
