

Villarreal’s eSports players will once more take part in LaLiga’s official competition, which will restart online
eLaLiga Santander is back! LaLiga’s official eSports competition is getting back underway, with the aim of completing the season and seeing the best players in Spain at EA SPORTS™ FIFA 20 face each other in an epic end to the campaign which will take place during July.
Due to the current circumstances, the format of eLaLiga Santander has been changed, with the rest of the competition being played online, following the recommendations and guidelines recommended by the Health Minister, with the aim of protecting all those involved.
Under the slogan #VolverEsGanar (in English #BackToWin), implying that the real victory is once more feeling the excitement of competition again, eLaLiga Santander is returning stronger than ever, after the health crisis provoked by COVID-19.
Competition schedule
The Segundo Torneo Online (Second Online Tournament), for which registration is now opens and to which amateur players can sign up from across Spain. Players who previously signed up will received a message with information, but will not need to sign up again, as their previous registration will still be valid.
In this competition, Villarreal CF will be represented by their two eSports players, Ralfitita and Klose. In the ‘Primer Torneo Online’ (First Online Tournament), with the former reaching the final of the competition, which saw the participation of more than 5,000 gamers worldwide.
On the weekend of 20th and 21st June, the Mid Season competition where the best 16 players after the Second Online Tournament. Next up, will be the Tercer Torneo Online (Third Online Tournament), for which registration will open soon.
It will take place during the first week of July (4th and 5th July)m when we will know the winner of the second eLaLiga Santander season after the Gran Final (Grand Final), who will lift their trophy virtually and will receive a prize fund of €40,000. eLaLiga Santander is the national eSports league that gives out the most money, with a total prize fund of €100,000.
