The game against Levante UD at the Villarreal CF Training Ground ends goalless
Villarreal and Levante UD drew (0-0) in the third pre-season game for Unai Emery’s men, after the matches against Valencia CF and Olympique Lyonnais, in a game on Pitch 1 at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva).
Haissem Hassan had the first chance of the game in the eighth minute. The French attacker got into the box after a nice piece of work down the right, but his cross was cut out by Miramón. Levante had a similar piece of play five minutes later through Campaña, but his shot was stopped by Filip Jorgensen.
Villarreal looked more electric tan their opponents at the start and Hassan had another chance, looking impressive on the right wing. Just before the halfway point of the first half, Dani Parejo had to go off injured after calf problems, with Manu Morlanes replacing him for the Yellows in the middle of the pitch. Filip once more was called into action just before the break, with a great stop from a Campaña free-kick. Both teams went into the half-time break goalless.
In the second half, Emery changed the team and lined up with: Íker Álvarez; Mario Gaspar, Sofian, Mandi, A. Pedraza; Morlanes, Capoue; A. Baena, Trigueros, Nikita Iosifov; A. Millán. The Valencian side did not make their changes until the 60th minute, when Son, Rober Pier, Radoja, José Manuel, Roger MS., Bardhi, De Frutos, Ferni, Cantero and Pepelu all came on. After the break, there were not many clear chances, but the Yellows had the best. Étienne Capoue’s ball into space found Mario, who cut back and played a low cross to Álex Millán, who was unable to make contact with the ball after a defender intervened. The pre-season game between Villarreal and Levante ended 0-0.
Next up for Villarreal is another pre-season friendly, this time against Olympique Marseille on Saturday at 9pm CEST at the Stade Orange Vélodrome.
