Villarreal lost 2-3 to CD Tenerife in San Pedro del Pinatar
Villarreal lost 2-3 against CD Tenerife in the second match of pre-season. A bumpy second half saw the tie go to the Canarians, in a stop-start match.
After a tight first half, with 43 minutes on the clock, the Yellows opened the scoring through Álex Baena after a great piece of individual play from Gerard Moreno.
However, the Yellows did not get off to the best of starts in the second half. With 50 minutes gone, Tenerife had scored twice, through Apeh and Jorge.
Straight after, Paco Alcácer levelled up the score, sending a Samu Chukwueze pass into the back of the net, after an excellent run down the right flank from the Nigerian.
In the 64th minute, a Pau Torres own goal put Tenerife ahead, and was enough to give them the victory.
Villarreal CF will face Valencia CF on Friday 28th August at 8pm CEST in the third pre-season friendly, also at the Pinatar Arena.
