The Yellows fall to Nàstic in their second preseason match

Villarreal were defeated in their second preseason match against Nàstic de Tarragona (2-0) in a clash in which the Yellows, despite having chances and dominating the match, could not match their opponents who were clinical every time they got in front of the Villarreal goal. The match served the Submarine as they continue to try different things, playing with two different elevens in each half.

In the first half, although it was Villarreal who were on top and creating chances, Nàstic struck gold with their first chance. In the 15th minute, a rapid counterattack after a Yellows’ defensive error, left Omar through one on one with Andrés, and the reds took the lead.

The goal freed up the locals, who pushed forward and started to look to steal the ball in the middle of the pitch. In the 33rd minute, Sansone had a great shot that hit the top of the post after good team play by the Yellows, but Villarreal did not have another clear chance until just before the break. It was then, in 44th minute, that Mario sent the ball just over the bar from a Jaume Costa cross.

In the second half, Nàstic took control in the first quarter of an hour and, although the Submarine reacted well in the opening minutes, it was the locals who found the back of the net once again. In the 75th minute, Emaná made it 2-0 with a driven shot that sentenced the match.
