Miguel Álvarez’s side conceded the equaliser in the last kick of the match
So close… Villarreal B were just second away from getting a win at the Nou Estadi in Tarragona (2-2). A goal from the home side late on saw the Yellows get a point after having put in an excellent performance against one of the best teams in Segunda División B in the first match of the second stage of the season.
The Mini Submarine recovered well after the opener from the home team, which came from Pedro Martín (m.23), scoring two goals of their own, through Juan Carlos Arana and Álex Millán. The former’s was a real work of art. A long-ranged effort which went into the top corner, while the latter’s was from the penalty spot, firing home a spot-kick after Arana was fouled in the box.
In the 96th minute, with the added time already up, Nástic de Tarragona scored an equaliser through their goalkeeper José Suarez. He got on the end of a Filip Jorgensen parry to send the ball into the back of the next and steal two points away from the Yellows. A cruel end to an impressive performance.
